On December 6, the 2023 Science and Technology Awards Ceremony of the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) was held at the Great Hall of the People. The project "Key Technologies and Industrialization of High-Efficiency, Energy-Saving, and Digital Stenter Series Intelligent Equipment," undertaken by Yoantion Industrial (301053), Donghua University, and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, won the First Prize of the 2023 CNTAC Science and Technology Progress Award.
Over a decade of effort and sucessful breakthroughs in technical barriers .The CNTAC Science and Technology Awards, approved by the National Science and Technology Awards Office (Certification No. 0093), are one of the highest honors in China's textile industry. They recognize entities and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to technological advancements in the textile sector, promoting innovation and improving the industry's technical and competitive strength. The awards uphold a fair and rigorous selection process, relying on professional, objective, and authoritative evaluation methods. With input from the government, industry experts, and the media, the nominated projects undergo stringent selection and comprehensive evaluation by a review committee, making the CNTAC Science and Technology Awards known as the "Light of Textiles."

The stenter process addresses the extensibility of fabrics post-dyeing, where the binding force of fiber molecules weakens at high temperatures. Using high-temperature multiphase medium heat exchange, this process eliminates internal stress and high-elastic deformation in fabrics, improving colorfastness and dimensional stability. However, setting consumes around 40% of the total energy in dyeing, with more than 60% of this energy being wasted as high-temperature exhaust gas, leading to significant energy waste and environmental pollution. The technical bottleneck lies in the complexity of multiphysical field coupling in this process, making modeling and regulation difficult.
Yoantion Industrial's project team spent over a decade overcoming these barriers and made several innovations: They analyzed the mechanisms of heat and mass transfer under multi-field coupling interaction and proposed methods for regulating heat transfer using a hybrid medium and compound phase change to reduce energy consumption and improve heat utilization efficiency.
The team introduced a dynamic parametric control method based on fluid dynamics for large inertial flow fields and developed a matrix-style multi-source heat exchange model, optimizing nozzle, duct, and oven structures. They also designed an innovative double-layer stenter, which reduces energy consumption, space, and labor costs.
Advanced techniques for high-precision processing of combined roller shafts and adaptive control of long-range, wide-format dynamic tension were developed, enabling accurate control of stenter equipment components and the setting process, thus improving both product quality and efficiency.
The team also created an expert system for setting processes, utilizing big data and deep learning to develop an embedded optimization system, enhancing the intelligence of setting production.
